| We have already traveled through
one and half decade after adaptation of liberalized economy. The progress is
noticeable but B-Schools of India have missed to visualize the opportunities
emerged in the environment to the entrepreneurs in due course of economic
liberalization & they suffer from a wrong presumption that each & every MBA
student desire to work under somebody in an established organization. In
accelerated change of environmental opportunities, though the candidates
possess entrepreneurship potential, but lack entrepreneurial skills. To
overcome these shortcomings ICMT has designed the curriculum in such a
manner that it focuses not only on developing subordinates but entrepreneurs
as well. |
| |
| ICMT has taken initiative in its region to design a course combining the
best of both Management & Entrepreneurship. This course has got certain
unique features, especially the strong bias towards entrepreneurship. It can
be evidenced by the fact that from the first semester of the program a
student gets exposure to Entrepreneurship Development and Small Business
Management. |
| |
| Along with a MBA degree from a UGC recognized Government University; this
program is a perfect blend of inputs from entrepreneurship and management to
ensure long term success of our students as an entrepreneur. |
| |
However, the nature of the
subject is such that there can be no absolutes, no definitive typologies,
when considering entrepreneurship. This understanding is both the starting
point and the enduring contribution of the ICMT MBA with Entrepreneurship
Management.
In the first year, students are exposed to core courses in all functions of
management. At the end of the first year, students are required to spend
approximately 8 to 10 weeks in an organisation doing a project on some
significant aspect or problem of management. The objective of the summer
project is to provide students with opportunities to observe an organisation
in operation and to relate what they have learnt to actual practice.
Students are required to work under the guidance of senior managers in the
organisation and submit project reports to their guides in the organisation
as also to faculty guides for evaluation. Students are encouraged to pick up
problem-solving projects and be part of the firms while implementing the
same. |

The emergence of a new
generation of Indian enterprise is one of the great success stories of
our time. …… The values of an open economy and an open society enshrined
in our Constitution have after some initial hiccups enabled lakhs of
first generation entrepreneurs to flower impressively in the course of a
single generation. This is a matter of great pride for all of us. It
shows that as new opportunities emerge, we Indians are ready to make
full use of them. |
| We are second to none when it comes to creativity and
enterprise. I salute the spirit of enterprise of our people. |
